‘Widgets’ for your SharePoint site
In our last article, we gave an introduction on how to make your own SharePoint site and customise it to your organisation. Moving on, we thought we would explain some of the add-ons and widgets that you can use with your SharePoint site. Here are some of the more popular ones:
- Office 365 Timesheet
Great for managing your staff, this app can log clock in/out times, obtain management approval for time off or other HR requests, and prepare reports. It will allow you to create unlimited projects and tasks, modify timesheets and create specific reports for every task and project. Plus, many more HR related functions.
- Task Management
This provides an overview of the tasks allocated to your SharePoint members. on the add-on enables you to organise your tasks into different categories, by type, date, completion, priority and many more. It is very straight forward to manage it, all tasks can be viewed by the assigned user or manager.
- Alerts & Reminders
If you like having reminders set up for different activities, this widget will be your best friend! You can set these up to specific users or even external recipients that might be working on certain projects. Everything can be managed by a specified timetable, hourly, daily, only within business hours or any other specific schedules. All these features will help you to stay on course, be efficient and keep track of your tasks.
- Poll App
Easy and quick way of creating a survey for the users. The results will be visualised as a pie or bar chart and every user can only vote once. Results will be seen as soon as answers are submitted.
